The Gujarat Fishermen Association in India has confirmed that its six fishermen had been taken into custody by the Pakistan authority for allegedly straying into their waters near Jalhau on Saturday January 12. It happens very often that the fishermen of both the nations crossed their fishing zone in water in search of good fishing which is not legal as per the guideline of international borders.
The six Indian fishermen were spotted by the Pakistani Marine Security Agency in their fishing zone area near Jalhau as they illegally straying into the Pakistani waters. The General Secretary of the Gujarat Fishermen Association Jivanlal Jungi has informed that the Pakistani authority also seized their boat.
Till now there are nearly 368 Indian fishermen has been taken into taken into custody by the Pakistani authority. As per the information provided by Jungi PMSA alleged that the Indian fishermen had illegally strayed into Pakistani water, was not correct. He means to say that Pakistani authority very often arrest the Indian fishermen without any offence and put them in their custody.
It is serious issue and both the nations should find out some serious solutions to the growing menace of innocent fishermen and their occupation.
