Longline and auto baiting system designers and manufacturers Fiskevegn A/S in Norway have recently been selected by Australia’s Austral Fisheries to produce a 62,000-hook BFG autoline system for the firm’s new 66.90 metre vessel Cape Arkona which will be delivered in April 2020.
A first vessel detention has taken place under the International Labour Organisation Work in Fishing Convention that came into force last year. The 380gt vessel was detained in Cape Town following inspections and complaints made by the crew.
