Norwegian specialist supplier Optimar Stette has signed a contract for the delivery of a full factory installation for a US customer. The company has been extremely busy, with orders for automated fish factory decks for Russia, Norwegian and New Zealand clients, and the US customer is now added to the orderbook.
The US delivery will be one of the largest to date from Optimar Stette, which has five divisions and 250 staff spread across its locations in Norway, Spain and the US. The new trawler will have a 150 tonne per day processing and freezing capacity and is to be delivered in 2018. The complete factory deck installation is to be supplied by Optimar Stette and this has been designed for maximum efficiency and to reduce the need for manual operation to a minimum. It includes automated freezers, hotel storage capacity for frozen fish, palletisers, cargo lifts, batch weighing and a newly-developed heading machine.
Located near Ålesund at the heart of Norway’s maritime and seafood cluster, the company is currently experiencing a high demand for its automatic factory deck installations, with a contract list that includes three Russian vessels, two Norwegian and one in New Zealand, plus the new US order.
