Norwegian processing and handling specialist Optimar is to deliver the factory deck for the new Sealord tralwer ordered earlier this year.
The new 82.90 metre by 17 metre beam trawler, due be built at the Simek yard in Flekkefjord to a Skipsteknisk design, will be the largest and most sophisticated vessel of its kind in the New Zealand fleet when it is complete at the end of 2017.
Optimar (formerly Optimar Stette) has contracted to supply the complete processing deck for handling primarily hoki, hake, ling, squid and jack mackerel to produce fillets, H&G and wholefrozen products. The installation will include automated systems, including semi-automated batching, automated freezers, automated sorting of finished products and automated palletising systems.
