Ever dreamed about escaping to Alaska? Plenty of people have, and now here’s your opportunity.
The O’Hara fishing company is looking for crew for its vessels that fish from January to November in the Bering Sea, off the Aleutian Islands and in other Alaskan waters. The newest trawler in the O’Hara fleet is the Norwegian-designed Araho, delivered at the end of last year.
The company warns that the work is tough, highly-paced and physically demanding.
‘The weather in Alaska can be severe and temperatures extreme, the hours are long and the work is highly physical. Our success as a company comes from the dedication and hard work of every crew member. If you are motivated and hardworking, fill out an application today…’ the company says.
Contracts are for 75-day spells, on a seven-days-a-week basis with a typical working day of sixteen and a half hours. The company works a zero tolerance policy on drugs, checks references and anyone applying needs authorisation to work in the USA.
