CEO Gunnar Domstein has a positive outlook on developments: “We are now experiencing a better utilisation of our production capacity given the successful capelin season, and record high quotas for mackerel and herring. Increase in volumes and a positive development in our main markets is a very good combination for Norway Pelagic.”
Norway Pelagic has completed a quarter with a significant increase in production volume. The increase is mainly related to capelin production, as commercial fisheries in the Barents Sea have been opened for the first time since 2004. Market conditions have stabilized during the quarter. The demand in our main markets has been good, especially for herring and capelin, which have increased at the expense of higher priced alternatives.
The group’s operating revenues in 1st quarter amounted to MNOK 749,0 compared with MNOK 543,8 last year. Operating result was MNOK 58,5 compared with MNOK 40,1 last year. Result before tax was MNOK 53,0 compared with MNOK 37,7 last year.
