Newfound Pioneer returned to Bay Roberts Newfoundland eight hours under 17 days after they had left for the fishing grounds. They used three days of sailing each way so they were on the fishing grounds for less than 11 days. The total catch was 482 tons, of which only 23 tons were small industrial shrimps.
Skipper Mark Hartery was very satisfied with the fishery and said that on the way north they made two tows with two trawls in area 4 and the rest of the trip was made at Cape Chidley were they only used one trawl.
Newfound Pioneer is using the 2820 meshes Vónin 2010 shrimp trawl, the Vónin Shrimp Grid and 12m2 Injector Shark trawl doors. Skipper Mark Hartery says that he is very satisfied with the gear from Vónin Canada.
Newfound Pioneer is expected to leave for the next trip when they have discharged.
