The latest in a series of seiners for Norwegian customers, the 50.50-metre, 12-metre beam Bernt Oskar has been designed and delivered by Danish shipbuilder Vestværftet in Hvide Sande for Svolvær company Kransvik AS.
Bernt Oskar is outfitted to operate as a seine netter and purse seiner, with the deck outfitted with a package of MacGregor winches and cranes installed by Thyborøn Skibs & Motor. The winches are managed by a Scantrol SYM7 management system with fly-shooting and purse seine functionality, and with integrated BlueCon wire spooling control with SYM7 menus.

Catch handling is from Lartech and pumps are from Allweiler. PTG supplied Bernt Oskar’s RSW system, and the sluch ice and ice plant are from Nordkøl, while Green Iceberg supplied the vessel’s pico slurry ice installation.
The main engine on board is a 1920kW Yanmar 6EY26W, powering a Finnøy G70FK reduction gear with a 4.55:1 ratio to turn a four-bladed3380mm diameter Finnøy P78.26.300.4D propeller inside a 3400mm nozzle. The auxiliary engine is a Nogva Scania DI 16 90 M, plus Bernt Oskar has a 1500kW shaft generator.
Side thrusters are supplied by Brunvoll and the steering gear is a Scan-Steering MT-5000 with two electro-hydraulic pump units.
Vest-EL has handled all electrical installation, including installing the fishfinding and navigation systems supplied by IMES.
Maritim Montering outfitted Bernt Oskar’s interiors, while El-Pro provided the wheelhouse consoles.
