Trefjar has delivered a new Cleopatra 36B longliner to owners in Vardø in the north of Norway. Østkapp has been delivered to Brynjar Bangsund, who also sails as the new boat’s skipper.
The 18gt Østkapp measures 10.99 metres in length and has been outfitted as a longliner with a Mustad autoline system with automated baiting. The layout includes a dedicated hauling space on the starboard side.
The main engine is a 600hp Doosan 4V158 driving a ZF500IV reduction gear. Auxiliary power is supplied by a 20kW genset.
The conventional Trefjar layout places the engine room aft and the fishroom with capacity for fourteen 660 litre tubs and am Kæling icemaker amidships.
Østkapp has its accommodation in the forward section, with bunks for four crew and a toilet/shower below. The wheelhouse has the skipper’s control position on the starboard side, fitted out with JRC, Olex and Simrad electronics, including a connection between the autopilot and the bow thruster, which is activated automatically when required.
There is a large mess and galley area on the port side of the wheelhouse.
Østkapp has already been delivered to Norway and is about to start fishing.
