Trefjar has delivered a new Cleopatra to Finmark skipper and owner Per Birger Persen.
This is a Cleopatra Fisherman 33, measuring 11gt and built in GRP at Trefjar’s yard at Hafnarfjörður in Iceland. Per Birger Persen has named the boat Karl-Torgeir, and it is rigged for netting with a Rapp hauler mounted on the starboard side and a net stacker aft. The deck setup can also be used for crabbing. The deck crane for landing catches is from TMP.
The layout has a mess area in the wheelhouse and a well-equipped galley and three bunks forward. The fishroom with capacity for twelve 380 litre tubs is amidships and the engine space with access via the stern deckhouse is aft. Karl-Torgeir is fitted with a heated oilskin store and a toilet with a shower.
The main engine is a Cummins QSC8.3, developing 490hp and driving a ZF reduction gear.
Karl-Torgeir has a hydraulic bow thruster which is linked to the autopilot to be activated automatically when required to make the task of keeping the boat on course while hauling at low speeds easier. The wheelhouse electronics are from Simrad.
