Icelandic fishing gear supplier Ísfell has been supplying Mustad Autoline systems to Greenland this year, since taking over the dealership for Mustad last year.
Mustad’s SelectFish system has been shown to work well under Greenland conditions and this is Mustad Autoline’s latest longline system, designed to work with monofilament longline. The 3 to 5mm line is spooled onto drums that can hold up to 10,000 metres. This is lightweight line that has greater buoyancy than conventional line.
The SelectFish system works well on smaller boats as well as larger ones and can be worked by a smaller crew.
According to Ísfell, more fishing in Greenland means that more operators have opted for longline systems to provide high-quality raw material.
In addition to the SelectFish systems, Ísfell has also supplied several Mustad Autoline Coastal systems to fishing vessels in Greenland.
