MRI rules out higher quotas until 2012

“As the next year classes coming into the fishery are weak ones, we can not expect to see a significant increase in cod fishing over at least the next four to five years,” Marine Research Institute director Jóhann Sigurjónsson told Icelandic fisheries newspaper Fiskifréttir, commenting that much depends on recruitment in the coming year.
