MMO has announced that they will start Marine Planning in April 2011 in the East inshore and East offshore sea areas off the coast between Flamborough Head in East Riding of Yorkshire to Felixstowe in Suffolk. MMO asked its stakeholders to participate in the marine planning process.
MMO said that they would therefore be grateful if you are able to pass on the following information to relevant members or representatives of your organisation. The organization is going to launch a survey to get views and opinions on how the MMO should inform and involve people in the marine planning process in this region, and how we can build on existing initiatives.
In this connection they are holding workshops to discuss stakeholders’ engagement for marine planning in the East Plan area in more detail. The results of the survey and the workshops will feed into a Statement of Public Participation (SPP) which will set out opportunities and mechanisms for those with an interest in the East marine planning areas to engage in the plan making process.
