From November 1 – 3, stand B909 at the 16th China Fisheries & Seafood Expowill provide a showcase for a range of Marel systems and solutions, some of which have been specifically developed for the local market.
Highlights include a large TargetBatcher with a takeaway conveyor and packing chute ergonomically designed to optimise worker comfort and ease of use.
Using the system, finished products, such as frozen portions and/or fillets, are scraped and graded, and the trays/boxes/baskets intended for packing for retail are brought to the TargetBatcher.
The packs are then placed on the working platform or stand, where operators place them onto the TargetBatcher, which automatically sorts them into batches of the desired weight.
The takeaway conveyor takes them to the out-feed chutes, and the completed batches drop into baskets for the rest of the packing process.
As well as the TargetBatcher, a team of Marel specialists will be on hand throughout the exhibition to provide information and advice on all the company’s equipment for processing whitefish, shellfish and farmed species such as Pangasius and Tilapia.
Over the years, the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo has grown to become Asia’s largest seafood show, attracting exhibitors from all over the world and visited by thousands of buyers and decision makers.
Strategically located in the port city of Qingdao (pop. 7m), the event is set in the heart of an area which is home to the largest seafood re-processing industry in China, with local companies and those in the surrounding Shandong Province importing and exporting some USD$6 billion worth of seafood each year, almost a third of China’s total international seafood trade.
