The Iceland Ocean Cluster (IOC) and Marel have pledged to strengthen relations and build further on the long-standing relations between the parties.
Marel was one of the first companies to join the IOC in 2011.
The two aim to collaborate on assisting seafood companies globally that have the ambition to increase circularity in the seafood business. Better technology for processing seafood can have a significant effect on the sustainability of the oceans.
Together, Marel and IOC are determined to find ways to strengthen startup activities that relate to blue ocean technology and not least technology that can improve the utilisation of seafood sidestreams, which in many parts of the world is wasted.
