At the start of the week Monday August 15 Large Haddock made £148-£165 per 57kg box and Whiting made £97-£137 per 57kg box and round Whiting made £63-£97 per 57kg box.

Commenting on the Shell Gannet F Subsea Flowline oil leak in the North Sea, Scottish Environment Secretary Richard Lochhead said:
“We take any oil leak extremely seriously, as the First Minister has made clear, and we are continuing to monitor this situation very closely. Marine Scotland officials are participating in the Operational Control Unit – alongside Shell, UK Government departments and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee – and are reporting back to Ministers on a regular basis.

Large Cod sold at £171-£228 per 57kg box while Whiting made £85-£114 per 57kg box and Coley made £85-50-£96-50 per 57kg box.

The Industry/Defra working group charged with developing solutions to the quota problems facing parts of the under 10m fleet, met again recently to review responses to the Defra consultation and discuss ways forward. The group is comprised of representatives from NFFO, NUTFA and UKAFPO, although, of course, the Federation has overlapping membership with both organisations.
