Norwegian operator aker BioMarine’s krill harvesting and production operation has been rebranded as QRILL Aqua – part of Aker QRILL Company.
This new entity’s ownership is held by American Industrial Partners (AIP) and Aker Capital. According to the company, the transition to Aker QRILL Company isn’t only a name change.
‘It’s a move that enhances our focus on and dedication to our customers, the aquaculture industry, and environmental responsibility, QRILL Aqua states.
Aker QRILL Company harvests Antarctic krill and his is a fully vertically-integrated operation that includes a logistics hub in Montevideo and a product chain that supplies krill-based ingredients for nutraceutical, aquaculture, and animal feed applications, backed by science and research into krill’s benefits.

The company has been heavily involved in the krill fishery in the Southern Ocean since 2006, and has invested heavily in technology for harvesting and producing high-grade marine ingredients.
