It is informed that Ingunn has been searching for herring in the area of international waters known as the Herring Loophole since last week. According to Róbert Axelsson they have been searching over a wide area for herring in cacheable volumes. He further told that they steamed east to the middle of the Herring Loophole, which is 340 nautical miles form Vopnafjördur.
It is also said that there wasn’t much to be had there and we were already steaming home when we came across a decent looking patch, so we shot away there and didn’t do badl. He added that yhey are steaming home with 400 tonnes in the tanks and there are still seven or eight Icelandic vessels still fishing n the Herring Loophole, mostly factory vessels.
