The first new trawler in a series of vessels designed by Nautic Rus for Russian fishing company Norebo has been issued with approval documentation by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS), following trials carried out under the supervision of the RS Baltic branch.
Built at the Severnaya shipyard in St Petersburg, Kapitan Sokolov features an inverted bow arrangement designed for exceptional seakeeping qualities, as well as making full use of the vessel’s internal space in the fore ship section that would not be as effectively used in a conventional design.
The 82.20-metre, 16-metre breadth Kapitan Sokolov also features electric trawl winches with capacity to regenerate energy, contributing to efficient operation. Accommodation on board is for a crew of up to 80 persons.
The factory deck is designed for processing cod, haddock and other demersal species in northern waters, with a production capacity of 150 tonnes/day of frozen and canned products. The carrying capacity is for 1020 tonnes of frozen production, 334 tonnes of fish meal and up to 95 tonnes of canned products.
