In the first nine months of 2008, Iceland exported marine products in the value of ISK 115.3 billion which was 25 % percent more than in the year-ago period. In terms of Euros, the exports were EUR 1002.5 million, down 5.4 percent from year-ago. Conversion into Euros is made on the basis of average purchasing rate for the two periods (see our news item on Nov. 4th). January-Sept. 2008 exports of main categories, in terms of Icelandic kronur, were as follows:
Salted and dried fish: ISK 22460 million, up 26.4 %.
Fresh fish: ISK 19644 million, up 19.3 %.
Wholefrozen fish: ISK 11051 million, up 18.4 %.
Frozen fillets: ISK 27043 million, up 4.7 %.
Frozen shrimp: ISK 6494 million, up 63.1 %.
Fish meal: ISK 9338 million, down 29.3 %.
