The eighth Holland Fisheries Event is set to take place in Urk on the 5-6th of October and this leading Dutch fisheries fair is regarded by exhibitors as an event where real business is done.
The Holland Fisheries Event is highly popular with companies in the Netherlands and abroad. With only a few months to go until October, there are only a few stands left in the otherwise sold-out exhibition space.
‘We still have five stands available. Even the new hall we have added for this edition is already almost full,’ said Paula van der Woude of the exhibition organisation.
‘Questions from companies about the options are coming in on a daily basis. My colleague Caroline Melissant and I look for good spots for the exhibitors on the exhibition floor; we arrange all the extras ranging from lunch, dinner, decor and lighting to information about overnight accommodation.’
‘The visitors who come to our two-day fair are mainly the decision-makers in their companies. Dozens of orders were arranged and signed in the stands during the previous edition in 2016,’ said Klaas-Jelle Koffeman, chairman of the Urk Fishery Days Foundation (Stichting Visserijdagen Urk), initiator of the Holland Fisheries Event.

The A hall where the main sponsor has been presenting itself for a number of editions will be renamed the Flynth Pavilion. Flynth and other companies including those with connections to the Master Plan for Sustainable Fishery, such as Padmos and Hoekman Shipbuilding, will exhibit in the pavilion, presenting the latest innovations and most recent plans for fishery entrepreneurship.
A trade fair where many decision-makers congregate is also attrative for foundations, associations and start-up companies operating in and for the fishing industry. The organisation offers attractive stands and/or high tables especially for foundations, associations and start-up companies to present themselves.
For the 4th time, De Koningshof Party & Events in Urk will be transformed into an exhibition location with seven halls and space for more than a hundred exhibitors from the fishing industry and maritime sector. The organisation is seeing a notable increase in the number of international companies keen to present their products and services to the Dutch fishing industry.
