The 7th edition of Holland Fisheries Event, the Dutch fishery and maritime exhibition, will take place on 7th and 8th of October in Urk with more than eighty stands already booked.
90% of the exhibition space at the 2015 event was taken, and this year the demand has grown, as the organisers have already added extra space to cope with the additional companies keen to present their products and services. ‘There is a real need in the fishing industry for opportunities to network and this is where a trade fair like this is important,’ said Paula van der Woude of the event’s organising team.
‘The Holland Fisheries Event is the place for local and foreign fishing operators, skippers, crews and companies with an interest in the industry can meet and speak with the industry, including accountants, consultants, government and environmental organisations, as well as suppliers.’
She said that the event’s parent organisation, the Urk Fishing Days Foundation, is delighted that Martijn van Dam, State Secretary for Economic Affairs, will be attending the opening of the Holland Fisheries Event this year, along with the mayor of Urk Pieter van Maaren and Klaas-Jelle Koffeman, President of the Urk Fishing Days Foundation. The Minister will then meet at the fair with several leading companies to discuss the interests of the fishing industry now and in the future.
