Greenland’s second largest town of Sisimiut is offering a an addition to its travel package to visit the fishing industry trade fair taking place between Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th of September this year.
Sisimiut offers a full-day fishing trip in the fjords around the town, as part of a package that includes flights and accommodation at Hotel Sisimiut or Sisimiut Seamen’s Home.
Polar Fish 2016 is intended to highlight the latest in fishing methods and technology for the commercial fishing industry, and the event has been held regularly since 2012.
With 5500 inhabitants, Sisimiut is Greenland’s second largest community where the traditional occupations of fishing and hunting are very much alive. Located north of the Arctic Circle, this is the northernmost town in Greenland that has ice-free access all year round.
The travel package on offer given visitors to Polar Fish an additional full day in Sisimiut after the exhibition, with the option of a day-long cruise around the fjords and the chance to cast a line for fish while you are there.
