New markets, new products and more customers are the reasons for FF Skagen’s positive financial results.
Chairman Jens A Borup said after the company’s AGM that turnover had been DKK2 billion, with a pre-tax profit DKK120.80 million. A total of of 358,000 tonnes of raw material were delivered to Skagen and 188,000 tonnes to FF Hanstholm,making 2015 the Hanstholm factory’s busiest year to date.
‘In 2015 we decided to switch from three shifts to four, so that landings and production could continue around the clock,’ he said, commenting that the company also made investments worth DKK70 million in Skagen and DKK25 million in Hanstholm.
‘These investments strengthen the quality of our products, as well as resulting in significant energy savings and improvements in our environmental performance,’ he said, adding that investments have also been made in the company’s laboratories where FF Skagen continues its strategic work to develop new products and innovative uses for fishmeal.
