Norwegian gear supplier Frøystad Fiskevegn has rebranded itself, changing its name simply to Frøystad and adding to the line of products it offers for fishing, aquaculture and sports nets.
The company dates back to 1972 when it was set up by Mindor Frøystad and his son Per to import and supply fishing gear for the Norwegian market. The company was re-established in 2011 with managing director Per Frøystad and sales manager Hallgeir Frøystadvåg as its owners, still in the same combined office and workshop building at Bølandet in Herøy.
‘We have staff here with long experience in fishing gear and in supplying gear to fishing and aquaculture,’ Per Frøystad said.
‘The company has been in the market for more than forty years and we have a strong reputation for quality. Now we have revamped our website and online store, so we are able to supply direct to both customers and retailers.’
One of the first Norwegian companies to import from China, Frøystad has a huge inventory of gear from wrasse pots to float rope to a range of static gets that can be machine-rigged either in China or Norway.
