One of the largest fishing operators in Russia, Norebo, has taken delivery of new factory trawler Valentin Manturov, built at the company’s own Otradnoe shipyard.
Valentin Manturov is built under the investment quotas initiative and has been delivered to its home port of Murmansk ahead of starting fishing in northern waters. It is reported to be the first in a series of four.
The new trawler has a 70-metre overall length and a breadth of 13.50 metres, with accommodation for a crew of up to 60. It is designed for operation in the North and South Atlantic, and joins the Norebo fleet of more than 40 vessels operating around the world.
Valentin Manturov is outfitted for frozen fillet production, as well as being able to produce fishmeal, fish oil and canned products.
This new vessel is named after Valentin Ivanovich Manturov, a leading figure in the development of fisheries in Russia and of the city of Murmansk
