Landings of haddock were good at Peterhead fishing market Scottish premier fish port last week.
The 9645 boxes of white fish sold at Peterhead fishing market on Monday and Tuesday, 0ver 4,000 were haddock, with large haddock selling for £97-£125 per 57kg box.
On Monday Nine trawlers landed 4,299 boxes of white fish with Large Cod at £2.20-£3.80, medium £2.50-£3.20, Haddock £2-£2.40, medium £1.40-£1.80, Whiting £1-£1.20, Megrim £1.20-£4.50, Monkfish £3.50-£4.50, Lemon Sole £1-£5, Plaice 60p-£1 and ling £1.20-£1.80.
Trawlers landed Seagull, Celestial Dawn, Benarkle, Starlight Rays, Starlight, Acorn, Ocean trust, Achieve, and Harvest Hope.
The following day 12 trawlers landed a total of 5,346 boxes which sold at Large Cod £1.20-£1.80, Medium £1-10-£1-30, Haddock £3-£3-20, medium£1.50-£1-80, Monkfish £3.40-£4.50, Megrim £2-£5, Coley £1-£1.10, plaice 60p-£1. Lemon sole £1-£3.50. And hake 40p-70p.
Boats landed Our Guide, Beryl, Onward, Boy Andrew, Attain 11, Castlewood, Budding Rose, Lapwing, Fear Not, Strathelliot, Maracestina, and Crystal Tide.
On Wednesday six boats landed a total of 1,393 boxes of white fish which sold at Large Cod £3.20-£4, medium £2.50-£3.50, Large Haddock £3.-£3-50, Monkfish £3.60-£4.30, whiting £1.30-£1.80, Coley £1-£1.20, Hake £2.20, Ling £1.80-£2.70.
Trawlers landed Faithful Bough, Renown, Fear Not (PD), Karenann, Content and Shalimar.
The following day Thursday Nine boats landed a total of 4,053 boxes of white fish with Large Cod at £2.60-£3-60, medium £3-£3.80, large Haddock, £2.40-£3, Medium £1.80-£2.60, Whiting £1.40-£2, Monkfish £3.50-£4.50, Megrims £1-£5. Lemon Sole £1.-£3, plaice 60p-£1.20, and hake £1.50-£2.
Trawlers landed Norlanteen, Achieve, Our Lass, Helenus, Tranquility, Lapwing, Nordfjordr, Budding Rose and Boy Andrew.
The last market at Peterhead of the week Friday saw eight boats landed a total of 3,463 boxes of white fish which sold at Large Cod £2-£2.50, medium 32.50-£3, Haddock large £2.30-£3, medium £1.80-£2.60, Whiting £1-£1.50, Monkfish £4-£5, Megrim £1.50-£4-50, Lemon Sole £1-£4, Coley £1.20-£1.45, Hake £1-£1.10 plaice 60p-£1.10 and Ling £1.50-£2.
Trawlers landed Acorn, Constant Friend, Fairline, Opportunius, Ryanwood, Mai Mai, Boy John and Rosebloom.
At Peterhead over the week 45 trawlers landed a weekly total of 20,508 boxes of whitefish.
At Fraserburgh fish market prices were reported very good for the week.
At Buckie Harbour 23 trawlers landed 938 boxes of whitefish, prawns and squid plus 85 bags of clams for the week with prices reported to be fair.
At Pittenweem Harbour Fife’s main fishing ports there were good lands of prawns , lobsters and crabs which sold locally for good prices.
On Saturday night August 7th hundreds of people gathered at Pittenweem Harbour for the Annual Festival picture shows fireworks exploding over some of the local fishing fleet..
