Over 10,000 boxes of white fish were landed at Peterhead Fish Market on Monday and Tuesday (July 26-27) with very good demand from all buyers. Haddock sold at £114-£137 per 57kg box with small £80-£114 per 57kg box and whiting at £57-£86 per 57kg box.
On Monday July 26 15 trawlers landed a total of 5,813 boxes of white fish which sold at Cod Large £2.40-£3.30, medium £2.20-£2.80, Haddock Large £2-£2.50, medium £2.-£2.30. Whiting £1.10-£1.80, Lemon Sole £1-£3., Monkfish £3-£4, Coley £1-£1.20, Plaice 60p-£1.50 and Hake £1-£2.
Trawlers landed Golden Splendour, Celestial Dawn, Kiroan, Viking Monarch, Ocean Trust, Sagittarius, Demares, Ardent, Advance, Boy John, Rosebloom, Gleaner, Crystal River, Faithful and Opportunus.
The following day Tuesday 8 boats landed a total of 4576 boxes of whitefish with Haddock large selling at £2-£2.40, medium £2.-£2.40. Cod Large £2.50-£3.50, Medium £2.20-£3., Monkfish £3.50-£4, Lemon Sole £1-£4, Whiting £1-£1.50, Megrims £3-£6, Coley £1,£1.10, Hake £1-£1.60 and Ling £1.20-£1.70.
Boats landed Strathelliot, Norlanteen, Starlight Rays, Starlight, Glenugie, Accord, Ocean Triumph and Constant Friend.
Wednesday saw 8 trawlers land a total of 4119 boxes of whitefish which sold at Cod Large £2.40-£3.40, Medium £2.20-£2.70, Haddock large £2-£2.50, medium £2-£2.50, Whiting 90p-£1.80, Lemon Sole £1-£4, Monkfish £3.50-£4.10, Plaice 60p-£1, Hake £1-£1.60 and Ling £1.10-£1.70
Trawlers landed Summer Dawn, Golden Gain, Phoenix, Ocean Bounty, Falcon, Zenith, Crystal River and Faithful (FR)
The following day Thursday faired better with 11 trawlers landing a total of 3356 boxes of whitefish which sold at Large Cod £2.40-£3.40, Medium £2.20-£3, There were no Haddock sold, Whiting £1.40-£2, Monkfish £3.50-£4, Megrims £1.50-£5, Lemon Sole £1-£4, plaice 70p-£1, Hake 60p-£1.20 and Ling £1.20-£1.70.
Trawlers landed Ocean Bounty, Aalskere, Our Lass, Castlewood, Attain, Ocean Reward, Nordfjordr, Helenus, Gelugie, Tranquillity, Atlantic Challenge,
The last day of the week Friday proved fruitful with 15 trawlers landing a total of 4617 boxes of whitefish. With Haddock large selling at £3, medium £3, Large Cod £2.40-£3.50, medium £2.20-£2.80, Whiting 50p-£2-50, Monkfish £3.40-£4.50, Megrims £2.-£5, Lemon Sole £1.-£3.50, plaice 60p-£1, Coley £1.-£1.10, Hake 40p-70p and Ling £1.50-£2.
Boats landed Maracestine, Fruitful Bough, Crystal River, Faithful(FR) Starlight Rays, Ocean Venture, Daisy, Ocean Harvest, Harvester, Crystal Tide, Favonius, Valhalla, Moremma and Amity.
At Peterhead weekending July30 a total of 57 trawlers landed a white fish tally of 22,481 boxes of white fish.
At Fraserburgh harbour fish market 160 vessels landed over the week a total of 5,960 boxes of whitefish which sold for good prices.
At Buckie harbour a total of 23 trawlers landed 1,356 boxes of whitefish, prawns and squid plus 339 bags of clams.
At Pittenweem Harbour , Fife’s main fishing port the local fleet are at the prawn fishing with fairly good catches being landed and sold at a fair price.
At St Monans harbour a few lobsters and crabs are being landed and sold locally at fairly good prices.
