With most selections of whitefish at Peterhead Fish Market, Scotland’s premier fishing port, where some 9,166 boxes were sold on the first two days Monday and Tuesday December 6-7 were a little cheaper than supplies at the start of December.
As a result of reduced demand Haddock made £103-£114 per 57kg box with Small Haddock £80-£91 per 57kg box.
On the first market of the week Monday December 6th Eleven trawlers landed a total of 5199 boxes of white fish which sold for the following prices Cod Large £1.80-£2.50, Medium £1.70-£2.10, Small £1.50-£1.80, Haddock Large £1.50-£2.50, Medium £1.50-£2.50, Whiting 90p-£1.50, Round Whiting £1.10-£1.30, Monkfish £3.00-£4.20, Coley £1.10-£1.40, Megrims £1.00-£3.00, Plaice 659-£1.50, Witches £1.00-£2.50, Hake £1.00-£2.50 and Ling £1,00-£1.20.
Trawlers Landed Starlight Rays, Ocean Harvest, Harvester, Harvest Hope, Morey Endeavour, Alakere, Norlantean, Opportune (WK) and Maracestina.
The following market day Tuesday Seven trawlers landed a total of 3967 boxes of white fish which sold at following prices. Haddock Large £1.80-£2.00, medium £1.80-£2.00, Cod Large £1.80-£2.50, Medium £1.80-£2.50, Whiting £1.00-£1.50, Round Whiting 90p-£1.00, Monkfish £3.50-£4.20, Coley £1.00-£1.20, Megrims £1.00-£2.50, Plaice 70p-£1.50, Hake 80p-£2.00, Witches £1.00-£1.50, and Ling £1.00-£1.20.
Boats landed Acorn, Summer Dawn, Golden Gain, Maggie M, Ardent, Advance and Avocet.
On Wednesday it fair a little better with Sixteen trawlers landing a total of 5214 boxes of whitefish which sold for the following price Cod large £2.00-£2.80, Medium£1.80-£2.20, Cod small £1.59-£1.80. Haddock Large £1.70-£2.00, Medium £1.70-£2.00, Whiting £1.00, Round Whiting 80p-£1.00, Monkfish £3.00-£4.00, Plaice 65p-£1.50, Cole y £1.00-£1.20, Witches £1.00-£1.50, and Ling £1.00-£1.20.

The following market day Thursday saw None trawlers land a total of 4121 boxes of white fish which sold for the following prices Cod Large £2.30-£3.30, Medium £2.00-£3.00, Cod Small £1.70-£2.20, Large Haddock £2.30-£2.50, medium £2.00-£2.30, Whiting £1.30-£1.20, Round Whiting £1.00-£1.20, Lemon Sole £1.00-£4,00, Monkfish £3.80-£4.20, Coley £1.10-£1.30, Megrims £2.50-£5.80, Plaice 65p-£1.50, Hake £1.30-£3.00, Witches £1.00-£1.60 and Ling £1.40-£1.60.
Trawlers landed Carina, Norlatean, Acorn, Sustain, Vela, Aquarius, Courageous, Ocean Dawn, Ocean Triumph.
The last market of the week at Peterhead saw Eleven trawlers land 3313 boxes of white fish which sold for the following prices Large Cod £2.50-£3.00, Medium £1.60-£2.20, Small £1.00-£1.80, No Haddock Sold, Whiting £1.00-£1.20, round Whiting 80p-£1.00, Monkfish £3.60-£4.00, Coley £1.00-£1.10, Lemon Sole £2.00-£4.00, Megrims £2.00-£4.50, Plaice 65p-£1.00, Witches £1.00-£1.50, and Ling £1.00.
Trawlers Landed Genuine, Arkh Angell, Opportune( WK), Tranqulity, Arcane, Acorn, Ardent, Advance, Strathelloit , Heather Sprig, Karenann.
At Peterhead 54 trawlers landed a total of 22,471 boxes of whitefish for the week. There were no Mackerel landings.
At Ullapool there was another decent week with Irish Pelagic trawlers landing 163 tonnes of mackerel, two Scottish whitefish trawlers landing 53 tonnes of mixed fish and Four Spanish liner. Netters taking 70 tonnes. There were also landings from three Scottish crabbers landing 29 tonnes of brown crab.
At Buckie Four vessels landed a total of 170 boxes of white fish, Prawns and Squid which sold for fair prices.
At Pittenweem Harbour Fife there were good landing by the local prawn which sold for reported good prices at the local market.
