Whitefish landed at Peterhead Harbour, Scotland’s Premier fishing port for the first two markets of last week totalled 9130 boxes. Which met with firm demand from local buyers.
Cod reached a high of £3.30 per kg on the Monday at Peterhead, where large and medium Haddock sold at £143-£160 per 57kg box .The first day of the Monday saw 11 trawlers land a total of 5385 boxes of whitefish which sold for Cod large £2.20-£3.30, Medium £2.20-£2.80, Haddock Large £2.50-£2.80-Medium £2.50-£2.80, Whiting £1.40-£1.80, Coley 90p-£1.10, Monkfish £2.00-£3.50, Lemon Sole £1.00-£5.00, Megrims £1.00-£3.50, Plaice 70p-£1.50, Hake £1.00-£2.00, Witches £1.00-£1.50 and Ling £1.00-£1.60.
Trawlers landed Denebula, Adorne, Celestial Dawn, Shalimar, Content, Ardent, Advance, Viking Monarch, Norlen, Antaras and Arkh Angel.
The following day Tuesday saw 10 boats land a total of 3745 boxes of white fish which sold at Cod Large £2.20-£3.30, Medium £2.00-£2.60. Haddock Large £2.00-£2.40, medium £2.00-£2.40, Whiting £1.30-£2.00. Coley £1.00-£1.10, Monkfish £2.70-£3.60, Megrim £1.50-£3.40, Lemon Sole £1.00-£5.00, Plaice 70p-£1.50, Hake 80p-£2.00, Witches £1.00 and Ling £1.50.
Boats landed Ocean Trust, Ocean Venture, Karenann, Constant Friend, Sparkling Star, Devotion, Starlight Rays, Fear Not, Starlight and Tranquillity.
On the Wednesday 10 trawlers landed a total of 5174boxes of whitefish which sold for Large Haddock £2.40-£2.90, medium £2.40-£2.80, Large Cod £2.00-£3.00, Medium £1.70-£2.40, Coley £1.00-£1.20, Whiting £1.50-£2.00, Lemon Sole £1.00-£5.00, Monkfish £3.00-£3.60, Megrims £1.20-£3.00, Plaice 60p-£1.50, Hake £1.00-£2.00, Witches 65p-£1.00 Ling £1.20-£1.70.
Trawlers landed Ocean Reward, Crystal River, Faithful, Ocean Bounty, Ocean Triumph, Ocean Dawn, Courageous, Sagittarius, Helenus and Nordfjordr.
The following day Thursday saw 13 trawlers land a total of 3827 boxes of white fish which sold for Large Cod £2.00-£2.70, Medium £2.00-£2,20, Haddock Large £2.50-£3.00, medium £2.20-£2.80, Lemon Sole £1.00-£5.00, Whiting £1.50-£2.00, Monkfish £3.30-£4.20, Megrim £1.50-£5.50, Coley £1.00-£1.20, Hake £1.00-£3.00, Plaice 60p-£1.10, Witches 80p-£1.50, and ling £1.50-£1.70
Boats landed Ryanwood, Strathelliot, Fairline, Acheive, Harvest Hope, Kiroan, Valhalla, Accord, Morning Star, Quiet Waters, Harvester, Maracestine, and Ocean Harvest.
The last market of the week saw 9 trawlers land 2736 boxes of white fish which sold for Cod Large £2.50-£3.50, Medium £2.20-£2.70 There were no Haddock sold, Whiting £1.60-£2.00, Monkfish £3.50-£4.50, Lemon Sole £2.00-£5.00, Coley ££1.20-£1.70, Megrims £2.50-£6.00, Plaice 60p-£1.50, Witches £1,00-£1.50, Hake £1.20-£3.00 and Ling £1.50-£1.70
Trawlers landed Shalimar, Benarkle, Content, Avocet, Opportunus, Beryl, Onward, Gleaner and Demares.
At Peterhead there were landings 53 trawlers with a total of 20,867 boxes of whitefish landed over the week. There were three pelagic landings of herring.
At Fraserburgh harbour 176 vessels landed a total 4,976 boxes of white fish which sold for fair prices
Ullapool saw a decent week with one Scottish and One Spanish trawler each landing 20 tonnes of whitefish, while a Spanish netter took 25 tonnes of frozen deepwater crab for the Continental market. Meanwhile two Scottish crabbers landed 16.5 tonnes of brown crab.
At Pittenweem Harbour Fife’s main fishing port local boats were at the prawn fishing with good catches landed and sold for fair prices.
