On the first two day’s of last week Monday and Tuesday June 6-7 haddock sold at £92-£126 per 57kg box and small sold at £86-£103 per 57 KG box and Round at £23-£37 per 57kg box at Peterhead Fish market Scotland’s main fishing port .
The first market of the week Monday June 6 saw Eleven trawlers land a total 5764 boxes of white fish which sold at the following prices Large Cod £2.50-£3.20, Medium £2.20-£2.80, Haddock Large £1.80-£2.00, Medium £1.80-£2.00, Metros 50p-£1.00, Whiting £1.20-£1.70, Round Whiting £1.10-£1.60, Lemon Sole £1.25-£1.60, Monkfish £4.50-£5.00, Coley 85p-90p, Megrims £3.00-£7.00, Plaice Unsold £2.00, Hake £1.oo-£2.00, Witches £1.50-£2.50 ands Ling £1.05-£1.60.
Trawlers landed Castlewood, Attain, Proific, Copious, Adorne, Raynwood, Norlantean, Ocean Venture, Harvest Hope, Crystal River and Faithful.
The next day’s market Tuesday saw Nine trawlers land a total of 3691 boxes of white fish which were sold for the following prices. Haddock Large £1.60-£2.20, Medium £1.60-£2.00, Cod Large £2.50-£3.20, Medium £2.20-£2.80, Metros 85p-£1.00, Whiting £1.30-£1.70, Round Whiting 40p-£1.20, Lemon Sole £1.00-£5.00, Megrims £2.00-£5.50, Monkfish £3.60-£5.00 Plaice withdrawn £1.50, Hake £1.00-£2.00, Witches £1.00-£2.00 and Ling £1.35-£1.45.
Trawlers landed Arcturus, Ardent, Polaris, Copious, Crystal Tide, Favonius, Acorn and Ocean Trust.
On the next day Wednesday there were a total of 4564 boxes of white fish landed from Seven Trawlers which were sold at the following, Cod Large £2.50-£3.50, Medium £2.20-£2.80, Haddock Large £2.20-£2.70, Medium £1.70-£2.00, Metros 60p-80p, Whiting £1.20-£1.70, Round Whiting 45p-£1.00, Lemon Sole £1.50-£4.50, Coley 90p-£1.10, Monkfish £4.40-£5.10, Megrims £1.50-£4.10, Plaice 65p-£1.50, No Witches sold, Hake £1.00-£2.00 and Ling 90-£1.35.
Trawlers landed Starlight Rays, Budding Rose, Starlight, Lapwing, Shalimar, Artemis, Karenann.
The following day’s market Thursday saw Twelve Trawls land a total of 3895 boxes of whitefish which sold at the following prices Haddock Large £2.00-£2.50, Medium £1.60-£2.20, Cod Large £2.50-£3.30, Medium £2.00-£2,80, Metros 70p-£1.00, Whiting £1.00-£1.50, Round Whiting 45p-90p, Lemon Sole £1.00-£4.10, Coley 85p-90p, Monkfish £3.40-£4.50, Megrims £2.00-£5.00, Plaice 65p-£1.50, Hake £1.00-£2.40, Witches £1.50-£2.50 and Ling £1.20-£1.50.
Trawlers landed Glenugie, Achieve, Kiroan, Rosebloom, Boy John, Harvester, Ocean Harvest, Ryanwood, Adrone, Accord, Golden Sceptre and Tanquality.
The last market of the week Friday saw nine trawlers land a total of 3940 boxes of white fish which were sold for the following prices Haddock Large £1.80-£2.50, medium £1.60-£2.20, Cod Large £2.40-£3.00, medium £2.00-£2.60, Metros 60p-£1.20, Coley £1.00-£1.20, Whiting 60p-£1.20, Round Whiting 60p-£1.00, Lemon Sole £1.00-£4.00, Monkfish £4.00-£5.20, Megrims £1.50-£5.00, Plaice 65p-£2.00, Hake 70p-£2.00, Witches £1.00-1.50, Ling £1.00-£1.30 a and Squid 60p-£7.00.
Trawlers landed Renown, Endurance, Ocean Reward, Ocean Dawn, Courageous, Harvester, Ocean Harvest, Sardonyx and Celestial Dawn.
At Peterhead there landings for the week from om 48 trawlers for a weekly total of 21,845 boxes of whitefish. There were Two Pelagic landings of Herring.
At Fraserburgh Harbour there were 88 vessels landing for a weekly total of 4762 boxes of white fish which sold at fair prices.
At Ullapool it was a quite week with three Spanish liner/netters landing 48 tonnes of mixed white fish, and Two Scottish trawlers landing 53 tonnes of mostly Squid.
At Buckie Harbour Nine Trawlers landed a total of 263 boxes of whitefish, Prawns and Squid.
At Pittenweem Harbour, Fife there were fair landings of prawns =by the local prawn fleet which are working the fishing grounds of the Firth of Forth and further afield. Price for prawns were good.
At St Monans Harbour On Saturday June 11 the Annual Fishermen’s Sea Queen Gala was held at the harbour when the Fishermen’s Sea Queen arrived at the harbour on board the 109 year -old Fifie Herring Drifter the Reaper.
