Built for the Buchan family in Peterhead, the new Lunar Bow is the first newbuild to be delivered by Karstensens Skibsværft’s yard in Poland.

The yard in Poland has completed the partially outfitted hull of the 80 metre LOA, 16 metre beam Lunar Bow, which will be completed at the yard in Skagen.
Lunar Bow joins the company’s current pelagic vessels Kings Cross and Pathway, both of which are designed and built by Karstensens, although Lunar Bow is slightly longer and with an extra half metre of beam.
The owners opted for a combination pelagic trawler/purse seiner, preferring to have the option of purse seining for mackerel in particular.
Lunar Bow has a Wärtsilä propulsion package with a 10V31 main engine, twin Caterpillar C32 auxiliaries, Karmøy Winch deck equipment and a Johnson Controls RSW system.
Completion and delivery are scheduled for early 2020.
