Chinese fishing vessels in Beibu Gulf have been robbed by Vietnamese fisherman that created havoc among Chinese officials. The Chinese authority has asked its Vietnam counterpart to investigate seriously into this matter. China is highly concerned about the incident and has urged Vietnam handle the case strictly and at the same time take effective steps to prevent such incidents further.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu Beijing is seriously following the case as the government want to stop such incidents and at the same time encourage the Chinese fishermen to go on their jobs in that area without any fear.
Jiang throw more light on the incident that questioned the fair work on the fishing areas in Vietnam. She informed that some fishing vessels from south China’s Hainan Province were robbed by armed Vietnamese fishermen amid normal operations in the Beibu Gulf on January 7. According to her the incident lead to lost property in the Beibu Gulf, which is situated in the northern part of the South China Sea, which is the fishing ground of fishermen of both nations.
She opined that Vietnam promised to coordinate with China in the investigation into the robbery as both nations are ready to make joint efforts to safeguard stability in the Beibu Gulf
