Tersan Shipyard has launched factory freezer trawler Atlantic Enterprise, which is under construction for Ocean Prawns.
The Skipsteknisk-designed, 82.30-metre by 18 metre beam Atlantic Enterprise is being built to a high ice class under the strict Polar Code requirements. Optimal energy utilisation and minimal emissions to water and air have been critical key factors in the development.
Atlantic Enterprise will will be outfitted with a sophisticated factory for processing and freezing shrimp and turbot (Greenland halibut). New robotics systems have been developed aiming to eliminate risky and demanding labour operations. The freezer hold capacity will be approximately 3000 cubic metres on two levels and arranged for pallets.
It will have a 7350 Wärtsilä main engine.
Skipsteknisk has previously designed stern trawlers for Ocean Prawns – Ocean Tiger built at Soviknes Yard in 1997 and Atlantic Enterprise built at Aker Langsten in 2002. Both vessels are still in operation for the same owner.
Skipsteknisk and Tersan have collaborated extensively in recent years with a series of factory vessels.
‘We are very pleased and proud to have the chance to work together with Ocean Prawns for this significant project,’ said Tersan’s general manager Mehmet Gazioğlu.
‘This will be the first project that we will deliver to Denmark. She will be a top quality, one of the world’s most modern fishing vessels.’
