The first new beam trawler of this size to be designed and built in the UK for decades, the new Admiral Gordon PH-330 for Plymouth fishing company Interfish has been floated off onto the Tees.
Admiral Gordon is an SC McAllister design, has an overall length of 27.30 metres and has been built at Parkol Marine Engineering’s facility in Middlesbrough.
The new beamer is now in the process of being completed at the yard and is due to be commissioned in the new few weeks, before heading to the Parkol yard in Whitby next month for sea trials.
The new Admiral Gordon will then steam to its home port of Plymouth for christening before starting fishing.
A Parkol representative described the newbuild as ‘a massive achievement to all involved.’
‘Special thanks to designers SC McAllister as well as our landlord, Port of Middlesbrough, Sarens crane company and all of our employees and suppliers who worked on the project.’
Admiral Gordon’s owners are remarkably shy when it comes to publicity, and have declined to make any further information available…
