On the occasion of the international aquaculture trade show Aqua Sur, to be held in Puerto Montt, Chile, 10-13 October, Faroese equipment suppliers Vónin, KJ Hydraulik and JT Electric have teamed up for a joint promotional effort.
The three companies will share an exhibition stand at Aqua Sur under the banner ‘Faroe Islands Aquaculture Solutions’ in addition to making joint arrangements to visit Chilean fish farmers prior to the trade show.
As it moves into redevelopment after recovering from a devastating wave of salmon disease, the Chilean fish farming industry is attracting suppliers from abroad. For the Faroese, this is seen as an opportunity to expand international business.
“We have long experience from Faroese fish farming,” said Signar Poulsen, manager for Vónin’s aquaculture division. “One of our great advantages lies in the product quality that we offer. The equipment we supply is top notch and has been tried and tested in rough Faroese weather and is, therefore, exceptionally well suited for Chilean conditions.”
Products from the three suppliers to be highlighted include net cages, mooring systems, net cleaning systems, floating frames, work boats, and underwater lighting systems, to name some.
