At the 15th Annual China Fisheries & Seafood Expo (CFSE) in Dalian City (China) more than 800 companies from 35 countries and territories were participated. The press brief pf the show states that seafood exporters from aboard had different ways to introduce and promote their products and potential strength. In CFSE this year, China’s seafood companies attended with overwhelming percentage of over 70 percent.
Seven seafood companies of Vietnam, including Phuong Dong Seafood, Phuoc Anh Seafood, Utxico, South Vina, Cadovimex, Hungca Co., Ltd and Viettin brought their pangasius, shrimp, surimi, pangasius fishmeal and oil to display in the show. Representatives of these companies said that most visitors worked with them came from non-China countries. Although Vietnamese pangasius fillets were interested by other markets, it’s hard to access to the Chinese market.
There were some Vietnamese seafood companies did not register the booth in the show but they marketed products specially by offering their samples such Havico, Baseafood, Au Vung Seafood Co. Deputy General Director of Baseafood, Ngo Viet Hoai said that the company offered its dried seafood like yellow stripe, red bigeye, golden threadfin bream, lizard fish and dried shrimp. China’s demand for dried seafood was very big, the company did not have enough products to sell.
