According to the organization the main subcontractors are Grenco BV who will install a state of the art and environmental friendly refrigeration plant, Alewijnse for all cabling and electronics, Kranendonk for isolation and carpentry works, Naust Marine for the installation of new electrical winches and AFAK for the installation of a new fish processing plant.
It is also told that the main and auxiliary engines are delivered by Wartsila and comply with the present emission standards. It is said that the new design nozzle and propellor blades should help to reduce fuel consumption by appr. 8 percent thus reducing CO2 emissions. The owner said that to finish this Herculean task within a year is a major challenge.
It is also informed that SCH 6 Alida will undergo a complete makeover as the vessel will be lengthened by 11 meters. The new section was built at Reimerswaal Shipyard in Hansweert, Holland who will also execute most other works together with a team of experienced subcontractors. It is informed that the freezing factory, which is completely environmentally friendly, is supplied by Grenco BV.
Machinefabriek Van Rijn BV is said to deliver the fish processing factory while new electrical winches are installed by Naust Marine and Alewijnse and Kranendonk take care of cabling, electronics and isolation and carpentry works respectively. The works on the vessel are scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2009.
