Total value of catch of Icelandic vessels amounted to ISK 16 billion in January and February 2009, compared with ISK 12.1 billion in the first month of 2008. Total value increased therefore by 31.5% between years.
Total value of demersal species accounted for ISK 12.5 billion, thereof cod ISK 7 billion, haddock 2.3 billion, and redfish 1.5 billion. Total value of pelagic species accounted for ISK 2,3 billion and flatfish catches for ISK 1 billion.
