The Socarenam yard at Boulogne has completed two new trawlers for French owners, one with conventional looks and another with lines that are more reminiscent of Formula One.
The 25 metre, 625kW Marguerite has been built for Armement Jean Porcher, the yard’s eighteenth newbuild for the company over a twenty-five year relationship. The 21.50 metre Maranello has been built for Saint-Brieuc owners Jimmy Eouzan and Antoine Travadon, who also had their 2012 and 2014 trawlers Stradale and Scuderia built at the same yard.
The yard is now building a sister vessel to the Maranello, with the same streamlined, eye-catching lines, California, for the same owners. Also on order are two 25 metre trawlers for owners in Le Tréport, a 22.50 metre trawler for Armement Cherbourgois and a 16.50 fishing vessel for a Lorient owner.
Socarenam is also building a coastal patrol vessel for France and another for Guyana, plus a multi-function buoy-handling vessel for Oostende.
