A 72 metre trawler sent a distress call from a position approximately 700 nautical miles west of Dutch Harbor as crew were unable to control flooding. The crew abandoned ship into liferafts and have all been rescued.
Danish trawler lost, crew rescued
A Danish fishing vessel was lost on Saturday evening in a position 30 miles north of Skagen as it rapidly took on water. Two crew members were picked up by another boat fishing nearby.
Lyttleton trawler fire contained
Thirteen fire appliances attended a fire on board a trawler in the Port of Lyttleton in New Zealand this morning. The fire was quickly brought under control. Six of the crew were treated for smoke inhalation and four were taken to hospital.
Louisa fund launched
