2009 saw an increase in fishing vessels landing at the port with 4,260 tonnes of fish landed across the quays at a value of £6.3 million. Shoreham Port will once again be the busiest fishing port on the South East coast and England’s No.1 port for Scallop landings. The port has focused on attracting additional fishing boats, by offering safe and secure moorings, with good access for lorries. Julian Seaman the Harbour Master commented “the port has many facilities to offer the fishing boats, including a dry dock”.
The start of 2010 has seen a record number of fishing vessels visiting the port, which we expect will continue into the spring.
