Fisheries Iceland (SFS), the organisation representing employers in Iceland’s catching and processing sectors, has appointed a new director.
SFS has followed in its previous track record of appointing legal specialists to run the organisation, and Heiðrún Lind Marteinsdóttir is no exception, having worked in a Reyjkavík legal chambers since graduating in 2007 and having become a partner there, as well as having political links to the Independence Party.
She takes over as director after Kolbeinn Árnason let in the spring of this year for a bank position. SFS chairman Jens Garðar Helgason has been acting director in the interim while the search for a new candidate was in progress and while the thirty applications for the post were considered.
