According to Norðlýsið, Faroese operator Næraberg has bought Danish pelagic vessel Ruth from Hirtshals.
Ruth is to be replaced in March this year by a new 88 metre purser-tralwer being built at Karstensens in Skagen for Gullak Madsen and Rederiet Ruth.
Built in 2003 as Ordinat, Ruth was acquired by Rederiet Ruth in Hirtshals in 2009.
The 69 metre LOA, 13.80 metre beam Ruth will replace Næraberg’s Slættaberg to fish herring, mackerel and industrial species. It will be delivered to the Faroe Islands next week and is expected to operate from Klaksvík with a crew of 12 under skipper Leon Petersen.
