Fishing company Reyktal has bought freezer trawler Steffen C from its owners in Greenland.
The company already operates trawlers Taurus and Ontika, both registered in Estonia, reports Icelandic newspaper Fiskifréttir. Steffen C was built in Norway for Icelandic owner Pétur Stefánsson in 1997. It measures 63.40 metres with a beam of 13 metres and was built at Aukra Industrier to a Skipsteknisk design.
Designed as a shrimp trawler, It was sold to Greenland in 2006 and was renamed Steffen C.
According to new owners Reyktal, the acquisition is part of a programme of renewing its existing tonnage.
