The project, known internally as Resource Rights Allocation and Management (RRAM), first went to tender in November 2009 and is due to begin early next year. Under this new system all resources and fishing companies wil have to submit license and renewal applications and work plans, make payments and track the progress of dealings with the department through a single access point.
