A new trawler/scalloper for fishing company Cap Fagnet has been launched at the Manche Industrie Marine yard in Dieppe for Fécamp owners Yvon Neveu and Panel Matthieu.
The new Le Relais is expected to be complete and ready for fishing in time for this year’s scallop season.
At 19.95 metres and with a 7.20 metre breadth, Le Relais is built with a steel hull, and with an aluminium superstructure. Accommodation is for a crew of up to six in two cabins. The hull has been optimised for efficient operation and the main engine powers a 2300mm diameter propeller inside a nozzle. This is expected to deliver a 9.5 knot service speed, and a bollard pull of 11 tonnes.
The bow thrusters are hydraulic units and there’s a genset installed on port side of the engine room to provide additional electrical power.
The deck is laid out with two split net drums for holding fishing gear, and an derrick for discharging catches.
The 55 cubic metre fishroom is being outfitted with a chiller system and the deck system has elevators for taking catches to the sorting table, while another elevator system delivers filled boxes to the fishroom.
