It has been a busy few months for Icelandic company Skaginn 3X, having been presented with a series of awards, the most recent to which was the 2017 President of Iceland’s Export Award that recognises contributions to boosting Icelandic exports, and the award was presented yesterday at the President’s official residence at Bessastaðir.
Skaginn 3X’s managing director Ingólfur Árnason accepted the award on behalf of the company from President of Iceland Guðni Th. Jóhannesson.
When selecting candidates for the award, attention is given to the value generated by that candidate’s exports, the proportion of exports to total sales and the marketing of products to new areas.
In fact, part of Skaginn 3X has already received this particular honour when back in 2006 3X-Stál received the same award. Skaginn and 3X have long had a close working relationship and formally joined forces as a single entity at the beginning of this year.
‘In the last few months we are especially proud of receiving three awards, namely Svifaldan, an award for an Outstanding Concept given at the Icelandic Seafood Conference in November 2016, secondly The Icelandic Innovation Award last month and last but not least the latest President of Iceland’s Export Award, none of this would be possible without support and collaboration with the Icelandic Seafood Industry,‘ Ingólfur Árnason said following the ceremony at Bessastaðir.
He added that Skaginn 3X is the first company to receive the prestigious Innovation and The Export awards in the same year.
‘This is extraordinary,’ said Jón Birgir Gunnarsson who recently joined Skaginn 3X to head its marketing and sales team. ‘I have been in the industry for a long time and the level of innovation we are able to exhibit at the Brussels Seafood Show later this month is un paralleled.’
Next week Skaginn 3X will be at Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global on Stand 6127 in Global Hall 4.
