The partly-outfitted trawler Ora et Labora has been launched by Szczecin yard PTS for delivery to Vestvaerftet in Denmark.
The hull of the new trawler was built by PTS Ltd. shipyard at the Szczecin Industrial Park, also known as Szczecin Shipyard, and using some of its services, such as painting in the painting hall of the former Szczecin Shipyard.
Designed by Ove Kristensen, the 23.95 metre, 6.70 metre breadth Ora et Labora will have a 415kW main engine. It is newbuild number 42 for PTS, and Vestvaerftet newbuild number 332.
Ora et Labora is designed for stern trawling with single-, twin- or quad-rigs.
The newbuild was ordered in October 2016 by two Dutch operators, Urk company Oostzee BV owned by Jelle de Vries and his son Andries, and Hendrik Nienhuis and his son Onno of Zoutkamp company Nienhuis Beheer BV.
The de Vries family had sold their German-registered Lummetje SC-28 a year previously and the new vessel will carry the same SC-28 registration.
Construction of the new trawler is being supervised by Herbert Westerwaal of IJmuiden shipbroker Westcoasting.
