Vessel owners form Urk and Zoutkamp are combining their efforts towards a new dedicated stern trawler for targeting flatfish and shrimp.
Father and son Jelle and Andries de Vries from Zoutkamp who recently sold Eurocutter SC-28, and Henry and Onno Nienhuis from Urk are joining forces to build a new 23.99 metre LOA by 6.70 metre beam multi-purpose trawler capable of twin-rigging for plaice and quad-rigging for shrimp.
The hull of the Vestværft-designed newbuild will be delivered by a Polish shipyard in the second half of next year and fitting out will be managed by Westcoasting in IJmuiden.
The newbuild will have a Mitsubishi main engine, a Sip Marine propeller and John Deere auxiliary engines.
